I primarily utilize “third wave” behavioral therapies which balance behavior change with acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based living. My approach is also DBT-informed and emotion-focused; therapy will emphasize how to understand, experience, and respond to emotions in more effective ways.
Specific modalities provided in individual therapy include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), prolonged exposure (PE) therapy, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), behavioral activation (BA), and motivational interviewing (MI). -
Individual DBT therapy focuses on improving emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills, as well as working toward life worth living goals.
I provide individual DBT therapy for adults who experience intense emotions and/or impulsive behavior. Additionally, I provide the DBT Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) protocol to address trauma and traumatic invalidation, as well as DBT-SUD for individuals with substance use difficulties. Please note, I currently see clients in DBT Stage 2 and beyond, once behavioral control has been established. Moreover, I offer individual DBT skills training to teach DBT skills on a 1:1 basis. This is typically available for individuals who already have a primary individual therapist, though some exceptions may be made.

I utilize a DBT-informed approach to provide treatment for couples in which one or both partner(s) experience difficulty regulating emotions and/or engage in impulsive behavior. This approach helps partners reduce conflict and increase connection by improving emotional awareness and validation skills, and reducing emotional reactivity.
